CEP's flow through separation technology offers reliable identification and separation of desired cells at high yeilds, purity levels and viability rates. The CEP is poised to become the perferred method of cell separation by researchers and clinicians alike.
CEP's Advantages
Magnetic closed circuit – The CEP apparatus forces the flux lines to pass through the separation area, creating extraordinarily strong virtual magnetic fields. These strong fields can attract either very small or a very large number of marked cells, as required by the application.
Non-hostile environment – Both the silicon tubing incorporated in the system as well as the constant flow of physiological liquid ensure that the cells are constantly present in a non-hostile environment. There are no harmful substances or foreign objects involved in the procedure so the cells are not damaged in any way.
Increased volume of specimen – No containers are used in this method but rather the specimen flows through tubing. The system can handle large specimen volumes, such as entire units of blood.
Increased purity of cell population - The CEP does not damage the cell membrane at all.
Improved separation of specific sub-populations - The CEP allows definition of the intensity of the magnetic field, allowing for instance, separation of cells that express a specific antigen at a certain density, or cells expressing two or more antigens, as opposed to only one, to name a few.
How CEP Measures Up
CEP's capabilities were validated by one of the world’s leading hematological laboratories. The following chart presents CEPs superiority in comparison with current technologies:
